September 2012 LGBT Events in Ft. Lauderdale


On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political Events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars. 
With that in mind, here are the events I want to highlight for September:
September 8, 2012 - Bloomingdale's Boca Raton will donate 10% of tracked sales to Pride Center of South Florida. 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Men's on 1 at Bloomingdale's Boca Raton. To find out more visit: www.pridecenter​florida.org 

September 8, 2012 - SmartRide Splash Bash Fundraiser to benefit the Pride Center of South Florida. 3:00pm until 7:00pm. The Depot Bar and Grill, 2935 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale. September 8, 2012 - Bingo at the Pride Center of South Florida 6:30pm – 10:00pm. 2040 North Dixie Highway Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Have a GAY old time at this very popular and always fun BINGO! September 14, 2012 - "8" The Play presented by Compass in partnership with the Lake Worth Playhouse. 8:00pm until 10:00pm. The only stage reading in the state of Florida, Compass and the Lake Worth Playhouse are looking forward to bringing you the American Foundation for Equal Rights and Broadway Impact's "8." September 15, 2012 - Meet and Mingle with the Executive Director and Board of Directors of The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. 7:00 to 9:30 p.m at the home of Dr. Russell Sassani & Michael Schneider, 139 Fiesta Way Fort Lauderdale, FL 3330. Suggested donation of $50pp. It should be a great evening at a beautiful home near Las Olas. September 22 - Amazing Race South Florida benefiting Broward House. 9:00am. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?  CAN YOU HANDLE THE PRESSURE?  THEN LET'S SEE WHAT YOU GOT. On Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, 50 Teams of two will depart from a secret location at 9 am on this date for a race that will take them through Wilton Manors, Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park. Just like the television reality show, they will need to perform 20 different tasks at twenty different locations...watch out though, along the way there are road blocks, u-turns and other hazards that they will have to endour.  This race is not an easy day and teams must be sure they are up for a challenge that will test their stamina, nerves, work together ability and most of all saneness!!! http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e5p83v9p3c6defd3&llr=u4uahrcab

September 30- Pride Center Founder Circle Brunch. 11am – 2:00pm. 2040 North Dixie Highway Wilton Manors, FL 33305.

October 6 - National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Miami Recognition Dinner. 6:30pm - Midnight. The Miami Recognition Dinner is an important South Florida tradition. It not only allows the LGBT community and its supporters to celebrate our heroes, it also provides a vital source of funding for the community on the local and national levels. The 16th Annual Miami Recognition Dinner, will return to the spectacular Sparkle Ballroom of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The evening features two cocktail receptions (one for VIP guests), a sit-down dinner, a silent auction, an awards ceremony, and dancing. http://www.thetaskforce.org/mrd12/mrd12.html
